I've contributed to a few threads on this that and the other, colours, chops etc etc however I haven't come across a specific 'Panel truck' / body style thread. I've searched and was unable to locate one, sedan deliveries but no trucks

1934 Dodge, what a great looking truck!
    A sedan delivery I guess.

This is a 34 Dodge "humpback" panel.

I don't see these much nowadays, used to be a guy that was a customer at the machine shop where I worked in the 70's that had one of these late 30's Dodge panels.
At the time I thought they were kind of an odd looking duck but they have grown on me (just) a little.

Built this Chevy or my wife a few years ago...and then a guy from Long Island offered "stupid money" ...and I sold it out from under her:eek: pan9.jpg pan9x.jpg

    Hello,

Having owned two 1940 Ford Sedan Deliveries, there is a difference between the smaller sedan deliveries and the LARGER PANEL TRUCKS. We noticed the difference during our searches for the smaller sedan delivery hot rods. The larger panel trucks will hold a surfboard quite well. You can even stuff all of your camping/cooking gear with a cooler/refrigerator in the back. The sedan delivery is definitely smaller and can hold the modern day short surfboard, but will feel crowded with a mattress, camping gear, cooking stove and a cooler.

The larger panel truck definitely has space advantage, but the smaller sedan deliveries have a definite driving stance and handling advantage.

Our choice was always the sedan delivery, but sometimes we had wished we had more space, with all of the carry on stuff, that went along for a two week to a month vacation on a long coastal cruise.

The panel van obviously has an advantage for space issues, but one thing it does have is a bigger blind spot on the right side (passenger) rear quarter area. That blind spot is awful and was the cause for my wife to not like the smaller sedan delivery while driving at night. That blind spot just did not make driving fun and exciting. It was like the fugitive always looking over their shoulder for someone following them… YRMV
