Technical Borg Warner Super T10 ID

    Hi all,
    I have a Borg Warner but i'm not sure how to identify it.
    The numbers are as follows:
    1304-065-903
    WG DIV
    2BN107378 which is on the top
    ML-344

    A super T-10 is all aluminum cased. 26 splined input and a 32 splined output shaft. pretty easy to identify.

    81 firebird transmission, I think. from the 2BN.... partial VIN.

    That would make sense. I recently sold a couple of 4 speed bandit cars that were super T-10s. Trans of choice from 75 and later in 4 gear Z28s and TA's.

    You'll need the ring count on the input shaft to tell you exactly what you have. My trans has the same 1304065903 case number, has a 3 ring input shaft, and is a 2.64 first gear, 1.75 second, 1.33 third, and direct fourth. The same case could have been used in a 2.43 first, a 2.64 first, a 2.88 first, or a 3.42 first. The rear end ratio is what determined the trans gearing for the most part. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

    • T10s were built from 1957 to 1965;
    • Super T10s (Second design) were built from 1974 to 1983. Richmond ended up taking over from B/W. Early T10 are cast iron case (Like Saginaw 4sd), later are alloy case.

    I'm looking at a used T10 to buy, the seller doesn't know what it came out of, can anyone help me I.D. it by this # 13-04-066-905 casing
    Thanks for your help, the input has 4 grooves, 26 spines. looks like it will work for me!
