With a whopping two entire posts in a 1100 page thread about Kustoms, you might be standing alone, which is fine. There is an older thread on '40 Ford Taildraggers and HAMBer's commented that it is a tough chop to do it right. I agree, I would never try it, or pay someone to try it unless they had already turned out a masterpiece, such as the car you commented on.

Here's a couple "ruined" cars, one real, one expertly photoshopped.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion! Anybody who chops a 40 Ford coupe or P.U. did nothing but ruin a perfect design!!!

Ah, yes. I have come to see it your way @MMM1693 The THREE exclamation points at the end are what forced me change my mind. After I say my goodbye's here on the HAMB, I'll be joining up over at that really popular forum ASFF (All Stock Forty Fords). Just kiddin' ya.

Anybody else got the kustom blues and need to see some kustoms? Here's a few more that are ruined.

Wish I had the money I would buy it and put it back to its original condition like it should be in honor of Paul Harper the original builder. Was called The Red Rage

I get what you are saying 99% that the 40 Ford coupe is a purrfect design from the factory...... Most of the guys on this thread have Kustom blood running through their veins. When you are building a kustom a lot of what we do starts with the word IF. I believe IF you were going to chop a 40 Ford coupe, Don Lowes creation is purrfect. If some one hadn't seen a 40 Ford coupe before the could get confused and think it is a stock bodied car... Ruined? I'd say no. Now it's a whole different animal.

I really like the 53/54 Plymouth lougbang posted above. The profile of the chop and use of 56 rear fenders and the earlier back glass are quite stunning. You don't usually see these customized and if yo do they usually take to much out of the top and they look like they got stepped on by Godzilla! Not to keen on the silver bumpers or tan scallops, but that's just a personal preferance , and not a cut on the builder. Very nice and refreshing change.:) Larry
