  1. This one would have to go under the various artwork banner. From the Chrysler Museum, now closed. 4BE92930-3CE0-4D79-AB91-BD03E684F248.jpeg

  2. What the heck, I like this one too. 06FC1612-0AA5-4EAE-ABC4-D64D425ADC67.jpeg

  3. I have more of these if anyone wants to see them. They were life size. Apologies for the picture of a picture. C2CEB179-1608-41FE-988C-823502D93AE8.jpeg

I took the liberty of enlarging it for you, seeing your photos makes me wish I had visited that museum. Why did it close?

That is an interesting perspective, to
me, with the fenders looking normal it shows a different form of sectioning. ;)

  7. Thanks for the manipulation. I think the museum closed due to economics, I believe it was when Fiat started to have influence. Lots of rodders around here are lifetime employees of Chrysler- they just build minivans now. We gathered up a load of retirees and headed over the weekend before it closed. It was a great display. There is also the whole Greenfield village complex of Henry Ford in our backyard, I have only spent a couple of hours there, but you could spend a week. We take these places for granted, probably like the car magazine situation, use it or lose it.

    Hello,

With this pandemic wrecking havoc everywhere, once this is over, the most famous weekly cruise-in event takes place in So Cal. Actually, it takes place where it has always been from many years ago. Escondido,CA. is home to the huge “Cruising Grand” weekly car show. It runs (or used to run prior to the pandemic) from April to September of every year.

Since it is in the best weather months of So Cal and being located miles inland from the coast, it has always been a fun place to go on Friday nights. The topper of course, is the Nitro Night to close out the season every year.

The Westcoast fuel race cars put on quite a show with the new/old builds. It is the old fuel drag racers along with the happy spectators from those old days that enjoy the smell of nitro in the air and the flames sparking in the night.

While in inland San Diego county, check out the hot rod mural art in those cool city streets.

“The Hidden Valley” Daniel Hernandez (c) 2019 is in Escondido and stands out quite well as a cool city mural, depicting the area’s history.

  20. I worked for Chrysler for 25 years and have visited the museum several times. I especially liked the basement where they had race cars and some oddities like the HEMI powered air raid sirens and the ME412 (look it up) prototypes that would have been world beaters if Daimler hadn't stopped the project. We were told that lack of funds and lack of volunteers around the time of the bankruptcy in 2009 was the reason the museum closed. Had lots of history there that showed Chryslers engineering over the decades, the first HEMI, a 2200 CI airplane engine for WW2, a 30 cylinder tank engine built for WW2 as well. If you like Chrysler engines and haven't gone there yet look at a website called allpar.com and check out the engine history pages along with other stuff. Warning, it can be addictive!

Behind the ARtHatch Building on the South facing wall in the alley. Mural by Zane.

    Hello,

Escondido in the San Diego County area has been one of the cities that supports hot rods, cruisers during the city's Cruising Grand events. At the end of Summer, presents the famous "Nitro Nights" that draws people from all over to witness the power and smell of the nitro burning FED racecars.

One of the nice paintings that were allowed on the wall of the ARtHatch building was a tribute to Escondido. In it was a mention and cool drawing of a flamed and scalloped sedan, with the requisite big/little tire combination.

Cruising Grand is cancelled for the 2021 year, but will rise again as soon as possible.
