Can anyone tell me where that small copper coiled tube goes? The one that came with my car seems to be a little bit longer than the one pictured. Does it just run up under the dash somewhere? And, what is it's purpose?

In some it goes in the heater air duct inside the car, others it just goes tucked inside the cab. The capillary tube senses the temp. and controls the amt. Of water flowing into the heater core. See a shop manual for where yours goes.

I have the shop manual. Unfortunately my shop manual doesn't cover it :(

Just a thought, have you tried Fusick as they sell them?

  5. The tube goes inside the air plenum, and senses the temperature to control the water flow. The heater hoses need to be connected correctly to the valve for it to work properly. Check out heatercontrolvalve.com
