Need information on how to add gear indicator to a stock '40 Ford column. My tranny is a turbo 350 (3 speed). This must have come up before? I know Limeworks makes one but looks a little hokey. No offense to H.A.M.B. Don
Classic Instruments make a 2 1/16" gauge which suited the 727 trans in my 32. Similar styling to standard S-W gauges and didn't look out of place beside the trans temp S-W gauge hanging under the 40 dash. Miles better than all that digital street rodder stuff LOL Check it out and if you need it I still have the box and details which came with it. Took a bit to make the bracket to mount it on the trans but you're a hot rodder??
The indicator in a 71 Chevy or GMC truck isn't real ugly and you can get them either black or chrome and pointer, indicator and housing will cost just over 20 new. Scroll down Dashboard and cab parts for classic Chevy trucks 1967-72 (classicparts.com)
I found a DRNDL for my C-4 and attached it to my '41 dash with a magnetic strip then added a home made plactic pointer off the shifter tube
