Hot Rods NASHVILLE TN HAMBers? Car things to do?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Tman, Mar 2, 2021.

  1. As soon as the rest of the world settles down we are going to take our honeymoon to Nashville. We have direct cheap flights outta Sodak. Of course we are going to hit the usual music and food stuff. Never been to the area. Looking for tips and hot rod related things to do. TIA

The GoodGuys show at the Titans Stadium is last weekend in May. Great venue and usually a large turnout of all kinds of cars. Make your room reservations ahead of time.

It a lil overrated but... American Pickers has a store there. Last I knew they had the Von Dutch motorcycle on display. Also the Loveless Cafe is a must. Its famous, but also very good!

  9. Rent something cool and drive the Natchez Trace. Turn around and go back after you get to the Ms state line

Watch out for pick pockets down town at the bars. They prey on tourists.
Just saying there is a seedy side to downtown.
One of my coworkers had his wallet lifted and had a heck of a time turning in his rental car and then getting on an airplane with no I.D.

  12. We plan on staying away from the touristy bars. rather get off the beaten path and hang with locals.

  13. Down town used to be really cool.
It still has some great music, keep the wallet in the front pocket.

  18. Oh yeah, Lavin wants to do the Opry and the HOF. I am looking for a good show at the Ryman as well. Our window is wide open.

Jason Graham's shop is in Portland, 40 miles NE of Nashville. Lot of distilleries in the area, Tennessee Whiskey Trail and a couple of hours north, the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.

I was going to suggest the HRR in bowling Green. And if you Like Music at all and there is somebody playing at the ryman , GO. Look at prints on the wall, then think about who has played music in the grand ole place. It's kind of humbling. If you like racing, the Fairgrounds racetrack is one of the premier short tracks in the country.

Jack Daniel’s is down in Lynchburg. Tours daily, but I’d call to make sure they are still doing them with the COVID crap going on.
