97 here (heat index of 103), I went out to do some work on my sons car and just looked at it for like 2 minutes and went back inside,.. ( no air conditioning ) yeah it's a moist heat,.....everything on me is soaked,........
man that would be nice 104 here and 110 in the frt shop 104 in the back one.... looks like mokan is out for me this year cant take the heat to finish the car ///
I'm lucky to be in an airconditioned office. But 15 feet from me starts 90,000 sf of warehouse space that is every bit of 105-110* right now. I did my part and supplied the guys out there with water and pop the last 2 days... probably 6 cases worth of stuff. Its brutal out there.
Man, don't you guys know any better? You're supposed to SLEEP during the heat of the day, and venture into the shop at night when it's cooled down. Then all you have to worry about is the mosquitos!!!
That's the reason for siesta time! Sleep thru the heat and work in the cool of the evening. It's only 110* in my back yard right now. jerry
Need advice, because of this insane heat I've been forced to work in my garage in the nude. But apparently there are laws against this considering the two fines I have obtained so the question is do I wear a studded leather speedo, or gold thong?
Yea I know what you guy's are going through. Out here last week the temp on the thermometers showed 122 and the garage was at 148 so the 32 project sat. Hope you folks make it through as some of the older folks didn't make it as we had about 19 deaths here in the county alone, and the state has said the count now is around 194 so far. We have cooled now to a high of 86 today. Check on your family and folks next door, especially the older folks.
100 plus in the shop with 4 tons of ac kicking had to be a good 125 in the sun and i was so lucky to be in both i look like a lobster bill
97 with a heat index of 115 (thats in the shade). Garage is beyond hot at about 107 to 110 with a fan going.
90's with heat index 100-101 I been pulling an engine last two days and man 15 minutes the sweat is dripping onto my hands while IM wrenching. I got that sucker yanked though so the worste is over.
Dewpoint last night was at 76. Anything over 70 is tropical. I'm going to drive my boat to work tomorrow. Too damn hot to work on anything outside.
That's what it's been like here at the Beach for the past three weeks. Today it cooled off to 80º & 80% humidity. Usually when it gets hot here it's the "dry heat" people like to call it, this is like tropical. The Pacific Ocean Temps have been about 5º hotter than usual too. If the water get any hotter, we could see hurricanes here too! UK's Tony Blair was here in Long Beach yesterday talking about actually dealing with global warming. London really will flood if the polar caps melt, as will St Petersberg, and maybe the shopping center at the end of my block. I just hope Im high enogh up the hill to get left with prime beach front property! Republican Arnold publicly blasted "the people in Washington" for not doing anything so he's going to start something in California. I think, rather than quickfixes on the politically easiest, car emissions, we need to start planting, or replanting rain forests, quick, so the trees can keep up with "breathing" the CO2 out of the air again. I heard that all the cows McDonalds raises to make Big Macs are putting out more CO2 than all the cars in California, not to mention the Methane when they fart.
You said it bro!105 in the weld shop & I'm working a 10hr.shift in this shit!I'm welding in a T-shirt!Too hot for leathers....hell it's too hot for a welding hood!
Come January we got something for you southwest types We bitch about the cold here when winter comes but its a nice change. I dont mind the bad weather. It just sucks not having the cars out.
You punks don't know from hot. When I was your age I worked in a foundry in the Mojave desert making parts for sewing machines. And it was hot. It was so damned hot that by afternoon the meat would fall off your bones. It was hot. We used to sweat and it came out as iodized salt. That was hot damn it.
Waaaaaaaaaaa It's been cool this week for us at 110... Last week hit 120 with 68% humitiy (palm springs ca)
