That’s like trying to operate on 2 people and interchanging parts.

Hey we do kidney transplants all the time! But I agree the rejection rate of the organs is high if the HLA-B27 compatibility isn't correct!:D

New body needs a new frame. No question about it.

You seem to have tastes that change over time. If you have TWO projects, you can pick the one that is closest to where your head is at that day.

The more I have been on the H.A.M.B. 10 years now, I believe I have reached an equilibrium of what is truly correct, and why hot rodders do what they do, and why the cars look as such. What looks overcooked, not right etc, etc. I don’t believe I should jump the gun and build a speedster when I haven’t even built a conventional hotrod. I haven’t really paid my hotrod dues, and 10 years has taught me that...

I am with you on this. I wish I kept it simple on my own build instead of trying to do something that required constant planning and changes to the plan to get something that's really a bit beyond what a first build should be shooting for conceptually. But all we gotta do is keep doing the work and eventually we will get there regardless!

The easiest way to remove window regulator mounting screws is with an acetylene torch, I light the torch, stick it through the access hole in the inner door panel, then while I watch through the window opening move the torch so the heat ends up on the mounting screw bosses. Heat to red-hot then let cool, repeat as necessary. It's a lot easier/safer than welding stuff to the head of the fastener.

I’ve done that on my model T. I just wanted to try out another method... I do appreciate you taking out the time to point this method out though. Thank you.

Pay special attention to the fitting on the inward side of the filter housing. It should have a small (1/16"-ish) hole to restrict the flow and keep the pressure high in the rest of the system. Don't loose that fitting.

The fitting on the inboard side, outside the housing. The gauge sender probably screws in the same fitting. There is no fitting inside the housing.

the red thing is the brass fitting with a restricted orifice. In the diagram its a T that also mount the blue thing, the oil pressure sending unit. some are a T, some are not. there are 2 oil ports at the rear of the block, one can be for the sender, or live gauge, the other is the feed to the filter, green line on right. green line on left is the filter return to block. i think 8ba's have a threaded boss for it on the left near the dip stick, otherwise a boss on the oil pan itself. Yes, you replace the filter just like any other car.

Very helpful thank you... I ask about changing the filter, as it looks metal?? Also on many K and N filters you just wash and re-oil...

    Please Advise.

Pretty sure the KN filters that are washed are for air cleaners, not oil filters. Buy a Wix cartridge for a 50 Ford and you will be fine.

I don't remember if you did something "modern" to your oil system on your engine like changing to an almost full filter system. If you did, then you should check with whomever designed your system for the proper routing of lines and fittings. If it's just like stock, then it's all easy and just make sure your canister uses that restricted fitting on the inlet side. I'd hate to see a new engine run with low pressure.

there are 2 tapped ports on the big raised up boss, one vertical, one horizontal, that is the stock system, but in your photo do i see a 3rd port to the right of the big boss? if so, you have the ports for a 95% system.

so, you have 3 ports, it could be set up like the diagram you posted. stick a wire in the horizontal port on the left, and see if it goes all the way in to the 3rd port on the right. if it does not go all the way, you have the passage blocked with a grub screw, seen in the diagram, and you are set up for the 95% system. this will not use the ford filter can, to much pressure for that, and instead uses a modern spin on filter base mounted where ever you want it.
