I found these pictures in an old photo album that was my grandfathers. Does anyone know what year and model of the car and the year of the Haley Davidson motorcycle?

car looks to be a late teens dodge, @VANDENPLAS will know for sure, bike looks like they are ready for a road trip! the gal has her hat on backwards, dual electric spotlights, its a vtwin, but the front fender does not look familiar. one of them furrin jobs maybe, but i am no early bike expert

I don't think the car is a Dodge after spending a few minutes searching. The Bike probably Harley or maybe Indian.

This is where I need my dad who would have turned 101 last month, he could have looked at that photo and told you exactly what it was and which one of his buddies owned one back in the day.
I am not finding that grill and most Dodge cars had a two piece bumper.

I'll say one thing if that is your grand mother you can tell your daughters that they had a cool great granny. And Great Grandpa.

  6. Rad shell and fenders aren't beefy enough.
    Not a Dodge either.

There were a lot of car brands around then that looked very similar.

    Could be Chevrolet around 1920.

    Harley is late teens.

  8. At first glance the radiator shell looks like teens Dodge but the windscreen frame shape where it meets the cowl is not the distinctive curled Dodge shape.........I give up.........lol............andyd

  9. I'm gonna go Oakland around 1920. This one has some detail differences, but a lot the same. Maybe a year either way would be closer. The front edge of the fenders are quite distinctive, the sweep down of the door from, the cowl. Windshield frame not exactly the same.

1919. Windshield is closer, if not exactly the same. This resto may not have correct headlights and the new roof has only one rear window. Some restos are pretty loose.

  10. If you look closely, you can see "Harley Davidson" on the tank of the motorcycle.

I looked closely and could not see any name on the tank. Tank shape looks wrong, fenders and engine also to be a Harley. I believe we are looking at a late teens to mid twenty’s Indian.

    Just my 2 cents.

I can make out the HD on the tank without my glasses, and I can't see worth a ****.

What a cool Pic. Is that your grandfather then? Very cool.

The Kewpie Doll makes it a 1919-1/2.

Here's a 1918 Australia/New Zealand Oakland Export Brochure that shows the correct rear windows:

Thanks for the replies. The motor cycle is a Harley Davison. I do remember my grandfather telling me he had one, but I don’t remember the year. Does anyone know what year it is?

1920 Oakland this looks the closest. It makes since as my grandfather was an airplane mechanic in 1917 for the US Navy. I found other great pictures, just wish he was still here to talk about that time.

The airplane is Curtis N9. It was a Curtis Jenny with a 3’ wing extension and floats.

Thanks, I did send a note to “Wheels Through Time” museum with hopes that they would know what year.
