Hi all, I need to punch holes in my hood for the latches. Looking for measurement of front and back to locate the holes properly. Thanks in advance!

Duke, nice effort there. its gonna be a hard thing to do without a hood on sight to look at, or a cardboard template. kudos for your effort, hope the OP can get it

I have an original hood with out the handles that I could trace out on paper for you if that would help.

Duke you are amazing. I can use your measurements to make sure I’m in the ballpark, then a Cardboard template of my hood sides to make sure it lines up with radiator and brackets.

    Thanks all!

Ignore the OT parts, but here’s the project this site has been infinitely helpful getting to this stage.

Your grill looks like a 1933? The hood I have in my pictures is a 34. They are different

You have a good eye and are correct. It’s a 33 hood and grill that have been modified to look like 34. Hood has the reveal along the front edge as well. The body and cowl are 34, it has the hood prop reliefs on the back edge.

Currently the hood has no holes for either 33 or 34 latches, so I’m going with 34 style.

My dad certainly couldn’t afford a new grill so I believe he welded up a couple scrap pieces into what I have now. Instead of replacing the hood and grill (hard to find a decent one) I’m going to keep his vision and work with what I have. At least they are original Henry steel.

Gnater, let me know if you'd like to trade your '33 hood and grille for a '34 hood and grille. Thanks, 251.foursix3-839three.
