Why would a 62 Corvette be worth less than a 61? The 62 was the last year for 1st-gen. Corvettes and the only year a 1st. Gen. came with a 327. I will agree that I've seen some 6-figure restomods go across the block/w only the original body remaining.
I looked up a few on Hagerty's valuation tool and the new Black Book, surprising to me, 1957-1962 base models are very close to the same price. Many do not like the rear styling of the 62. It does not look like it goes with the front styling, IMO.
yeah.... I didn't never usta have any trouble fitting in em' ......being fiberglass they must have shrunk over the years.
About 20 years ago my neighbor had an orig. 62 340HP with 40,000 miles. It was featured in Motor Trend in the late 90's-very nice car. We found a one owner one here-all orig but tired-340HP black with red interior. We restored it and drove it a bit. It was fun and won a lot of shows but the Vette people were a bit different. Was still working and had 2 40's in progress and my 57 Fuely in pieces as well. Took it to Hot August Nights and it sold the 1st day. 40's were more fun to us. It lives in Las Vegas now.
