Technical Olds guys, what’s the difference between the 371 and the 394?

    The 59 and 60 371s are basicly the same block as the 394 and wider then the 57/58 371 but will fit where a 303 or 324 came out of.

    I just picked up 41 ford panel with a 371 olds in it , has a Mallory dual point, and aluminum finned no name valve covers and 4 barrel hope to to it going soon.

    Someone mentioned J-2 earlier. GR8 runners & durable. A friend had one in a 57 Olds 98 . He beat on it and it took a lick'n & kept on tick'n. That car would RUN !

    It's gone now to a Hamber in CT 2 weeks ago and he was very happy with all he got.

  8. The beauty of an early 371 is it looks like a 303/324. Very traditional. :)
    Also, you can use those nifty factory valve covers with the humps.
