Secora ?.....Secora ? Tom Secora.......Omaha ? I started watching this thread and suddenly had a great flashback. That name sure rang a bell. Then I looked in my dogeared folder labeled Old Car Stuff. In there is a picture that always makes me smile from "the good ole days".......it is a picture of Tom Secora Sr. in his black "roadster" on the grounds of the Adair Co. Fairgrounds in Greenfield Iowa at the annual Sept Swap Meet from years and years ago. It is the one swap meet a year where I go to sell old dirt track race car stuff and other hot road stuff. Years ago I had one half of a vintage Hilborn injector setup for a Olds 394. Your dad came by and we got to talking about "old stuff"......including both of us as I am the same age as your dad.
We swapped stories for a long time and he said he wanted the Hilborn injector for "whatever".......he paid me and said he would be back later to pick it up. At the end of the day, a totally cool black 32 "roadster" pulls up. I immediately started drooling over the car......I said "what a neat period correct roadster".......he immediately said....."no no....it's a "Cabriolet" ! and schooled me real quick on the difference !

I LOVE old race cars.......I will be following all of this thread and tell your dad Hi from an old guy from Michigan....Iowa.....Wisconsin or wherever I was living when we crossed paths. Have fun

View attachment 4984690 View attachment 4984690 Trying to keep the coupe build to its true form . However I have decided not to channel it as hard as it was in the 50s . The photo with the door open from Grand Island in 57 shows a hard channel along with minimal head room for the driver . The photo of my 6’ 4” buddy Eric in the Black Hop Up shirt sitting inside the coupe on Saturday makes me think the body will work at this height on the frame.. now to figure out the sweeping of the frame and suspension to achieve a low slung frame ride height

Very cool! Thanks for sharing. I'd never heard of that car, either, so I learned something. Graduated Northwest High, class of '76.

Stanlow, The car was accepted to the World of Wheels show next week. Now to scramble to get it at ride height so it does not sit up like a tree house.

I put together a video on Banjos.. More geared for the someone who wants to learn about banjos. If your a banjo expert this is probably not for you. But there is cool tid bit of information in the video about how they use to reinforce the ring gear with a welded bung in the bell. I had not heard of this before until I heard the story from Bob Shukart who drag raced in the 50s and 60s

Thank you . I am very lucky to have a friend that is willing to edit all the go pro footage and come over and film in the shop.
