So it wont have the issues in this thread?

  3. Ididit has a quality product. Also a lifetime warranty. This includes the turn signal switch.

Can they make a custom column? I want to use the factory steering wheel and original turn signal switch since it works perfectly

Why not just cut down the original column, you’ll have to add a bearing to the lower end and mill ( file) flats on it to use DD joint.

I was thinking about that. I still may do it. You dont happen to have a source for the bearing do you?

Not sure on the Chevy column, but on 40’s era Fords a common wheel barrel bearing is used.

I used a early 50's Pontiac tube with the org brg at the top (for the horn) and a common "wheel barrow" flanged bearing that I picked up at Bomgaars (read Tractor Supply, or possibly your "big box store") here is a link for McMaster Carr https://www.mcmaster.com/bearings/wheel-axles-bearings-and-reducer-bushings/
The picture below shows the bearing with a retainer bushing (prob not the right term) to keep everything locked in place. Sorry I don't have a better picture. IMG_0169.JPG
