Anyone have a good source for smooth baby moon hubcaps for 1949-1953 Chevy passenger car? These are the rims with the 5 rivited on tabs. I hope to find an inexpensive set of stainless 1st choice and chrome 2nd choice. Everything seems to be for truck or later models or trailer. They also dont post alot of information when they sell these. Found one set for $100 but hope to do better on reproductions. Thanks for any direction you can give [IMG][IMG]

The cap in the picture is for those smoothy '70s aftermarket chrome wheels. The '49 - '53 baldies were sold only by Cal Custom for a short period in the early '60s and were hard to find then, impossible now. They look exactly like the Cal Custom '50 - '58 Olds baldies, but the inner retaining ring is slightly different.
The pictured cap wouldn't clear the dust cap on a stock '49 - '53 wheel ...

Since the baby moons seem to be not available; why not go for the '50 Merc repro caps? They come in two different sizes. I have big ones on my front wheels and small ones on the back. They are stainless steel. I have Ford wheels in front and Dodge wheels in the back. IMG_0852.JPG

because they wont fit 1949-1953 chevy passenger wheels with clips. many of these caps are not interchangeable.

Well unfortunately even after searching the internet upside down I learned the hard way. I spent $115 for a set of 4 shipped and after i got the product i found some tags and found the maker at $8.52 each cap plus shipping ...about $53 total shipped. Will not be worth my time and effort and all the freight to turn them back so i just hope this help others. Try this . https://www.coyoteaccessories.com/1009
Coyote accessories stock number #1009. these will fit 1949-1953 Chevy passenger 5 riveted car clip wheels. plain baby noon caps

Why not take the '49-'50 caps and strip the paint off of them? Then run "ghost image" caps!
