    ttwomotor,
Is this the Greek at Union Grove in the early '60's?

  14. Does anyone have pictures of the MANGLER fed. Tom Jobe of the Surfers once stated, that if you came up against those guys you were in trouble.

I’ve seen that style before on another car and if I recall correctly it was from an airplane or some kind of aviation wheel that was light and strong

Makes sense, I've heard of it also, was apparently where Ted Halibrand got his motivation.

Wow, the Dragmaster Dart. My Dad took a special liking to that team and Danny Ongais. For me, it was the Adams & McEwen Shark Car. Great times at Lions.....

Is the Greek - don't think The Grove had cars and spectators on that side of the track - would be late 50's.

I believe that the late '50's is correct. By the early '60's he was using the car with the nose fairing that when 206 at Alton. I was never at Cordova or Jacksonville, but it could have been at one of the early World Series of Drag Racing meets.

I have always been a huge Danny on-the-gas fan, a bit of a mysterious character as he apparently was always very introverted and never gave interviews let alone a bio so info on him is very scarce

Schwinn !! I was a Huffy Drag Bike man myself.. With that long frame, I could put my weight on the front and do burn outs with that slick...
