I'm stumped. Several years ago we bought a set of chromed wheel barrels from Rally America, and used them to make a killer set of widened stock-is rims. I've got a new project in the shop and wanted to do something similar, but the nice folks at Rally America told me they've gotten away from that market and couldn't supply what I needed. Ideally they would be chrome plated, but even a supplier of new 15" barrels would be a step in the right direction. Does anyone have a supplier they would share?

I fixed the title of the thread. @Bandit Billy was looking for chromed hoops a while back because the lead time on custom backspace chrome wheels was too long. He had a set that was wrong and I talked him into cutting the centers out and using those hoops for his new wheels....

Now I get it... you want “rims”. Try Millertire.com probably not chrome.

When the new kids decided that wheels are now called "rims" or God forbid, "rimz" then new terms had to be invented to describe the parts that comprise what we old farts used to refer to as a "wheel'. The component formally known as the rim evolved into a "hoop" or, as it seems, a "barrel". The old rolled pan has become a roll pan or is it a cookie sheet? I think I was absent the day that the glossary was handed out. I now believe that my car could have a steering rim.

So is the plan to rivet the new centers in I suppose?

  19. Its too bad that Paulson went out of business (he got old). he was always quick when I needed chromies.

I usually have to cut up an old set of wheels to get the rims that I want. you can still find mullet wheels around here cheap.

Thanks for all of the leads. Phillips, I'll message you in a minute. The funny thing: I ask one shop and they say "oh, you mean barrels". The next shop says, "Barrels? You mean shells". And then the next place balls them hoops. Go figure. I found a place in S.C. that can supply them for me, in many sizes but the minimum order is like 50 pieces.. so that won't work. And the centers I have are 13.25" which is considered larger diameter, and less readily available than the 12.62"
I'll post back with any leads that work out. SD

You probably will not be able to send a PM. A while back, several privileges were restricted for those with less than a minimum number of posts - I think that number is 10 posts, but not going to waste my time verifying that number. In the last 6 years you have 4 posts...

This is due to a large volume of scammers in the classified ads.
