Picture of my FIL sitting on the fender of his air wheeled model A by the station where worked.

 

I may be obtuse but what is an "air wheel" ?

 

I am just guessing but it might be a Balloon tire.

 

Goodyear marketed a wheel and tire combo; the wheel was smaller in diameter than the norm and tire was the same outside diameter as the normal wheel. A take off on their aircraft tires; promoted as better riding due to lower air pressure. A balloon tire as posted above.

Must be brand new. I don't remember ever seeing one that clean and organized.

I worked at Southland Terrace ESSO in Louisville (Shively) KY that was kept that clean and organized back in '65.
