Under the floor on passenger side on one. Under floor on driver's side on another. On the firewall on the other two.

Batteries and guns all in the same tub! Here in Canada keeping a concealed weapon gets you into a whole heap of trouble. At least I just have to think about the battery mounting - that's like a 50% savings of my planning. I got some neat ideas from this.

  5. Like that but high up in the cowl of my 27. On a hinge so it drops down

  6. I made a lockable box from a 50 Cal ammo can for under the passenger seat.

  8. Almost 20 years ago, I built a 53 chevy ad. I notched the right side inner fender for the battery. Since then I have put the battery under the bed floor in a 32 and a 51 truck. I'm about to do another 51. The battery is going under the hood on it. I've been lucky and not had battery failures but changing them out is a pain. I'm old and easy is becoming more important. :)

Down under all our batteries must be in a sealed box and have external ventilation.

I like the safety of under the car where possible. This is in my son's 29 roadster pickup. Used a race car battery from Total Power. It measures 7 3/4L x 5 1/4W x 6 7/8H. Has plenty of cranking amps for a vehicle with basic electrical. It can be mounted in any position. This car does have lake style headers.

Mine is under floor where original was mounted on passenger side. Have cover that can be removed.
