  5. Wow and wow. I'm glad you're working on your car because a. who else could do it as well and b. I know you spent plenty, but god forbid how much it would have cost to outsource everything!

I noticed a character on your blackboard, is that you? Looks like it's from Beano...or Viz. :D

Sorry if I missed it but how much do the new intake ports flow compared to the old ones?

We sure have some VERY talented mechanics here on the HAMB. Good work.

To be honest I really don’t know for sure. What I think is that the rod has always been bent, just didn’t matter in the original build due to sloppy tolerances. As soon as set all the clearances properly it picked up. Only guessing though.

it was the chain drive, for whatever reason, that was causing the alternator to not work. As soon as I fitted the belt, it worked fine.

That’s my mate, he does that cartoon of himself.

Good question, and one we don’t know the answer to as it was flowing more than his flow bench could handle. We took that as a result.

    Great thread.
Your build thread on the original car, was one of the better build threads on the hamb.
For those who missed it there is a link in post 1. Certainly worth a read.

Nutrocker, I have been following your builds ever since the black Model A roadster. Every one is brilliant in it's own right.

Am I the only one that feels your avatar is more than fitting? INSANE build. Congrats.

Ha ha, the avatar was given to me by someone on here as a result of one of my other threads. Can’t remember who it was. Have to go and look.

And most will never understand the dedication to making an outdated engine make more power than it was ever intended to achieve.I really respect your determination to sort this out.Once you get the banger addiction its tough to walk away from it.Awesome job.

What an amazing and innovating fabrication job and beautiful also. I commend you for sticking with it. I went through some thing similar with my supercharged flathead V8. Fabricated all my own stuff. The end result was a really sweet running truck and I was FLAT broke.

I think I can see why you were happy to swap for the old modified. No challenges left to overcome!

In total awe Pete, a work of art.
I can’t wait to see and more importantly hear it run at full tilt on the sand.
