What I have here is an 11 inch converter with part numbers on it stamped 2411 and on the other end stamped 20131 .I believe it's a 3000 3500 stall converter but can't find anything on the numbers maybe I'm out of luck. Any transmission gurus out there recognize this? 16125585924671123558379199294567.jpg

Might try the transmission forum over on YellowBullet.Com. That forum is handled by a Canadian fella named "Hutch"; he knows his stuff, and there's a lot more transmission "gurus" there to boot. That's the first place I would go and do when I have transmission questions. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

At 11" diameter, I'd say that 3000 stall speed is a stretch. Unless it has some bastardized stator inside.
Stretching my memory back to when I worked at B&M Racing Transmissions, it's most probably closer to a 2400/2600 rpm stall speed.

I have no idea where the numbers you have came from. Just continue a web search with more trans. / converter companies.

I’ll second what Mike says. 3000 rpm out out an 11 inch converter would be tough. B&M’s super holeshot was 3000/3500 and it was 10 inch.

  5. I agree, I doubt it is 3000 stall, figure more like 2600. That doesn't necessarily mean that is what it will stall at in your particular vehicle and combination.

Maybe just coincidence, but maybe "2411" means 2400 stall speed/11-inch. My knowledge of torque converters is limited. However, Hughes bases its advertised stall speed on big-block engines. The actual stall would be lower on a small-block, having less torque than a big-block. Regardless of brand, the more low-end torque you have, the higher the actual stall speed.

TCI lists a 241100 converter, for a TH350, that's the newer part number...anyone have an old catalog?

Thanks for the reply all. I took this out of a 66 Nova with a pretty stout Stroker motor in it about 5 years ago and I couldn't remember what stall it was, I just remembered it was slipping a lot. The trans ended up getting swap to a overdrive trans and the guy gave me the trans and converter.was gonna give it to a friend but was unsure of the stall speed.
