The 1960's racing motion picture "PIT STOP" will air this Saturday at 9:55pm on the West coast, 12:55am Sunday morning on the East coast on the MOVIES TV NETWORK.
PIT STOP is a ultra low-budget movie about short track racing in Southern California, specifically Figure-8 racing at Ascot Park Gardena. The basic plot is a street racer becomes a rookie Figure-8 racer and has to deal with a veteran driver, who is a certified Nut-Case-Waco, played by the late Sid Haig.
The movie is black and white and the plot is so far over the top, but, the racing action from Ascot Park is real and fantastic, with footage of pre-war coupes and post-war stocks.
This movie has the best racing scenes of racing from Ascot Park, more than any of the big-budget films of the 1960's films at Ascot.

I didn't realize it until just recently but the star of "Pit Stop", Richard Davalos, is also in the 1970 world war 2 movie "Kelly's Hero's". Davalos is the American GI sharp shooter in the bell tower of the small town near the end of the movie.

11:55 Central. It looks like the '54 had some fair amount of engine set back.
