    This is my -59, use it as a daily driver in the summer. Does anyone got pictures behind the seat ? I see some factory mounts that I don't know what it's for 20200628_015018.jpg .

    You probably already thought of this so Ill give your thread a bump up, that might be for the bumper jack or spare tire..

    The spare tire is mounted under the bed, but the bumper jack might belong there. Thanks

    I have never seen an el camino of that vintage with the tire under the back. From the factory they were behind the passenger side of the seat. here is the orig jacking inst, showing it

    Moriarity is exactly right. They are somewhat hard to see due to the seat and package tray, but that is where they reside.

    Yes i have a 1960 El camino they have a wagon fuel tank which would allow mounting to underneath the rear of the vehicle but for some reason they chose to mount it inside the cab that is why they have a split bench out of a 2 door. I guess it would be quicker to remove it from behind the seat the designers must have thought being a commercial vehicle getting a flat tire would be common.
