Technical Navarro Heads

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Logan LeMaster, Feb 2, 2021.

  1. How does a guy tell if these are vintage or repop. I apologize for my ignorance in advance. Looking to build an 8ba, and trying to educate my self! Thanks in advance![IMG]

And they are good products once you deck them flat and machine all the nut surfaces. Even if they had been flat I planned to deck them anyway to dial in the CR on their blower heads. They are shiny!

That head looks too nice to be vintage. It's possible it's laid around somewhere in a box and wrapped up for decades, never installed and looking perfect, no marks at all. But what's the probability?

I have had a set of new Offenhauser heads "on the shelf" for at least 30 years. I bought them for a project, but then discovered that Edmunds heads with their relocated spark plugs were better performers. I found a couple of good used sets and the Offy's ended up on the shelf.

Pretty sure its an original set. I looked at them last weekend. A bit over my budget when the new ones are pretty much the same price. I am just up the road a bit from you outside of Croton.

  16. Your right 38-48. I do have an 8ba block that I need to get cleaned up and checked over. If its good then I'm looking for vintage stuff for it. May have had a couple beers when i read that add lol.

I asked him about all the stuff he had in the basement for his 8ba but non of it was for sale. He is going to get to it someday.
