  1. I wasn't aware Brizio had built Eric Clapton a shoe box, it came up when I was searching for the 4 door Vicky he had built for Eric.

    The car looks nice. HRP

Several years ago, now. I saw it when I visited Brizio's shop. Right hand drive, too. I assume he had it shipped to England or Europe.

Never noticed it was right hand drive, that’s cool.

Seen that before somewhere. Cool cool.

When I'd been dating my wife for a few months she surprised me with a trip to Chicago, and 3rd row seats at the united center to see ol slowhand and Stevie Winwood. Clapton was obviously great, but it was Winwood who absolutely blew me away. He did a version of RC's Georgia on a layered organ, everyone else went off stage. He sang, played rhythm with his left hand on the bottom keyboard, melody lines with his right hand on the top, and walking bass lines on the floor pedals. It was an egregious show of talent I've not seen the likes of since. I was floored. Everyone went nuts....

  7. I read where the car was built in 2012, I guess I have been living under a rock, I had never seen it in the past. HRP

LOVE! the green truck. An incredible amount of work for very subtle mods!!
Chopping the top 1", and sectioning the hood/raising the front fenders 1", shortening the box, moving the rear fenders forward 4". all very subtle, but all mods that enhance the original design.

Eric has a home about 2 miles from my house, all I have seen him in was the green Vicky!

Brizio has built several cars for Clapton and Jeff Beck. Jeff got Eric into hot rods.

  16. Both are really well done subtle rides. Not my style but the styling is amazing. Very seldom can you improve upon an AD grill unless we are catfish. This one is pretty bitchin

The great thing with both of those rigs is that they don't loose their identity in the modifications and you have to look with a knowing eye to see what has actually been changed.

That is what a true custom should be.

I have the original dash out of that shoebox. I was looking for a '49/'50 dash to pirate the clock pods for some custom work I was doing on my car. Joe Compani (Compani Color) had it hanging on his wall. Brizio had given it to Bill Ganahl when they were doing the project for Clapton. Bill later gave it to Joe, and Joe (who didn't know me from anyone) saw my post that I needed one of those dashes and passed it along gratis. Very cool how hot rodders work that way. Now parts of it are in my '41 Buick custom. Okay, sorry for the random tangent...now back to the discussion at hand...

  22. ...the shoebox and the truck are awesome builds, but to me they should both have the chrome windshield divider strips,...they both look like something is missing,...just my 2 cents

He's got quite the car collection. He's got his own model Ferrari for crying out loud. 1 of 1. You know you've made it when.....

Or a good friend in Jeff beck that got him into it. I think Eric had a engine swap in one of the cars he brought back becouse it was way to powerful for are tiny roads.

Swapped in an SBC, in place of the BBC. Believe it was a '40 Coupe.
