Think I found one :) Don't think it should be too difficult to do. It has some rust holes on the bottom part of the window frame, but I don't need the entire window frame. Actually, all I really need I guess is the sides.

Not sure when it will arrive, but I'm probably not going to be doing much work on the truck until January, I have some family coming over for Christmas, so I'd rather spend time with them. :)

Simple route, get it all nice and tight. Shoot it with a good layer of undercoat/ body schultz and then call it good. My dads A has been on the road 30+ years and its just as quiet as any new car while in town. Not as much wood as a chevy, but same idea

Santa arrived early with a transmission for me, and it didn't get stuck in the chimney :D

Will be nice to have a manual in there, and over drive :) I'll be working on other things, so in the mean time the trans will be in the dining room

I'll move the shifter to the front of the transmission, and start working on the crossmember mount for it in the truck. :)

rear window metal arrived today from 29moonshine, thanks! I'll be able to make the window opening a few inches larger with this :)

    Happy new year!

Got started on the rear window panel today, got it all cut out and ready to weld. I don't work with such thin metal all that often, so i'm going to take my time with the welding, and use some of the waste material as practice to setup the machine for the thin metal. My TIG is in storage right now, so I'll MIG this.

My thought was to weld on the back side, so that there would be less grinding to do, since the back side won't really be seen in the end.

Haven't made any more progress on the truck (aside from collecting a few more parts), I have temporarily switched my focus to getting the "garage" (walled up small 1 car garage) a bit more organized and functional.

Part of that was moving the compressor to the outside, which made alot more room. Still haven't run the air lines yet, but at least the tank is out of the garage now. Made a little shed for it.

and a switch on the inside wall to turn the compressor on, and the other switch is to open up the drain/purge valve on the bottom of the tank.

Now that I've made both carpenters and electricians cringe...... haha

Well, it's been exactly 1 year since I posted in this thread.

I'm not going to post a whole lot in this thread, because there's probably a good amount of non-hamb friendly material in my truck, but I wanted to give an update.

I'm slowly working on it, but I finally removed the last piece of wood and I have a plan formed in my head. I'm marching forward with with the project, slowly but surely.

Along with replacing the wood structure that the body panels screw into with metal rectangle tubing (1x2" .120 wall for the main parts), I'm also adding somewhat of a "cage" from 1.75" .120 wall DOM

I don't think it will be too bad. Not much more than without the cage I think. The A pillar is even with the front of the door, and the bar from the A to B pillar above the side windows is at the door line. And with the grab handle there, I think it might actually be easier to get in, haha!

I know I'm digging this thread up from the dead. But the photos were such good references for me and the project I'm starting, that I needed to post so I could find the thread later. ha!

Glad you found the photos useful :) I've not posted more, as the truck isn't very HAMB friendly anymore. But I'm still progressing on it :)

Do you have progress photos posted any where? I like your project and am currently pulling all the wood out of my 33 p/u.
