Bought em for $40.00 ;) while bringing them back to my swap meet spot, a guy stops me
(Saw the Cragar center caps) and asked too look closer at them said they had to be rare. lol
Also had found that old advertising add with Grumpy Jenkins selling them
They look beefy and would be really cool with a set of pie crust slicks

  3. My neighbor had a pair last year that he found he said he was going to bead blast them then I didn't see them anymore, not sure what happened to them.

  4. Another interesting Cragar is this all aluminum one piece that was made in the early 2,000's.
What's really interesting to me is that the spoke design is very similar to the early round spoke, they were only available in 15x7, 15x8, 17x7, 17x8

I had a set in the early 80’s when I was in Phoenix. Never got to mount them though, a kinda crazy night led to two days in the hospital and a hole in my gas tank.
When I got out, my buddy took me to a wrecking yard, I’d forgot my wallet. He paid for the tank.
I don’t recall the conversation much, but somehow he wound up with the wheels and put the tank in for me.

    Oh, yes, love’em!

Ok... I was thinking maybe you swiped it from Ted Nugent....;)

  12. My ol 55 in the 80's 55.jpg with 14 x 10's on the rear, 15 x 5 on the front. L-88 427 under the hood.

  13. Those were 15x7 and 15x8 in 5x4.5 bolt pattern for sale for $350, if they were 5x4.75 pattern I would've bought them, in hindsight I probably should've bought them anyway.

  14. Cragars are heads on 4 cyl Fords, mags are for guns, wheels are steel with a hubcap - there I got it off my chest. HAHAHAHahahah!!!!

YES, these are Cragars, just a different flavor. > Cragar S/X, I believe only made for a couple of years in early 70s. One piece aluminum with a chromed steel cap that is held on by 3 screws from the backside. 15 x6. 000_0631.JPG 000_0634.JPG 000_0629.JPG 000_0633.JPG 000_0177.JPG

Do you know much history on your vette. My dads old vette was silver with a sort of burnt orange side scallop. He sold in around 1975. I tracked it to Nebraska from Illinois but thats where the trail ended. Ive been searching for his vette for 25 years. I do have a vin number somewhere too. I'll have to look for it. It had black interior too. Is there a green color over the silver?
    Thanks

Cragar's have been on ALL my cars (Except my college car, a new Chevette Scooter). I had a pair of Cragar GT's in 14 X 6 with the 4-3/4" bolt pattern, that I pulled out of a dumpster at a storage complex where I kept my Pro Bracket, 56 Chevrolet, Model 150, Utility Sedan, and then later on my FED. Found a lot of stuff in that dumpster. Those wheels were in really good shape, and since the centers were't chromed, there was't any flaking there. I wound up giving them to a guy who's Mother was a Nurse I worked with; also gave him an old cast iron Powerglide that had been in a 57 Chevrolet Junior Stocker. He used them both in/on his 61 Chevrolet 4 door sedan, and I told him repeatedly he'd have to shorten his front drive-shaft 3 inches; he did't listen very well I guess. They're still selling those 1 piece aluminum Cragar "S/S" wheels, and they're direct bolt-on. I have a set of big and little Cragar S/S wheels with tires that had been on the 51 Chevrolet Business Coupe Street Gasser; they're sitting in one of the sheds waiting their turn at a project. That yellow 55 sure looks nice, but I'm guessing it's really a Model 150 with the Model 210 side trim added. Cragar's for the win! I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

They seem to work well with the styling on my Comet.

  28. This car was sitting since 1975 sporting Cragars. The Cragars looked cool on almost everything.

There's something different to the new SS wheels. Does the openings have more of a square look?

That black/red 64 Galaxie is nice! That is one of the nicest cars ever made..
