STP had two sticker colors. A bright red for advertising, and a dark red for sponsor/contingency decals.
The dark red would photograph better in black and white.

  4. This thread jogged my memory and I remembered I have a old 12" Andy Granatelli STP sticker somewhere mixed in with all my old hot rod magazines. HRP

Re: Deuce Daddy Don's post above. I entered my roadster in the roadster show after many years of wanting and wishing (I was mostly a coupe guy all those years). My roadster wore that little sticker proudly until the day I loaded it on a transporter and shipped it to it's new owner in Florida. I tried to get it off but it wasn't going to survive so it went with the car. Here's hoping I get another one one my new roadster.....

Back in the early 60's, when I was cruising the streets of Atlanta, we called a window full of decals a "Full Race Window".

  13. Back in the 60's it wasn't uncommon to see hot rods with the side glass covered with stickers , at least it was like that in my neck of the woods. HRP

I bought a couple of old magazines the other day, this one is Rod and Custom 1966, still has the STP decal in there. Pretty sweet find actually.

I think most showed what you wanted...... not what you had.

Around here, most of the stickers were something many guys thought they just had to put on their cars.
I spent many a night asking guys why they had two different brand stickers for the same parts? A few guys had multiple stickers for cams, headers, oil companies, and oil additive brands stuck on their car. Always good for a laugh at their expense.

Through the years I had a few stickers for parts I had on my cars, but most I just couldn't bring myself to install on the cars. These days, Summit, Speedway, Jegs, and a collection of other speed shops and parts outlets send stickers with every order. My wife usually pitches a pile of them once a year. You can't even give those away any more. Gene

Had 32 of these on the back quarter windows, both sides. And was starting a row on the passenger side front window when I sold the Ot Super Cobra Jet.

First time I saw this logo art ,was Giovannoni cam sticker, but seems a few others took the art an used it. Or is there a story ,I don't know?. There was a speed shop garage in Barberville Fla. just down the street from the oval race track with very close too same art in its signage.
