You can buy those bicycles today.. most think of them as Postal bikes but large warehouse like companies had them also. They are made by Workman. I had one at one of my jobs. Mine was made like a regular cruiser and was hell for stout. I’ll bet they are still using it today and I left in 1996..
Man TV really f**ked that car.... I’m glad Art was able to bring it back even though I know he never wanted to touch it again...
Tommy Koulax at the first Tommy's located at Beverly and Rampart Blvds in Los Angeles. My favorite place when I'm in the Southland. I've been going there since my freshman year in high school in '61. Hasn't changed much over the years and is as good as ever. Back in the 60s and 70s a lot of movie stars could be seen there after 11:00p trying to sober up. Saw Clark Gable there one time in '59 with my dad, and he could hardly stand-up. Funny stuff!
I used to go there in the 80's and '90's. It would be packed even after midnight on weekends but the lines moved quick. They had security guards wandering around in both parking lots. I used to have a few beers with the burgers while in the car with my buddies. We had to keep the beer out of sight or we'd get chased out by the security. Tommy's motto, "Clogging arteries since 1946!"
It is still in Australia but Toowoomba has lost 93 jobs shipped interstate. my favourite Weiss bar is the Mango & Cream.
The photo Weis supplied to the ABC seemed to belong here - despite the Toyota ... I keep seeing similarities between days-gone-by US and not-so-long-gone AUS ...
Sorry, Kings Shropshire light infantry. As he was from London we couldn't understand how he got in that regiment, as Shropshire is half way up the country. Turns out they needed a uphoneiem player so off he went. Sent from my KOB-L09 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
