My first time racing at New England Dragway, September 14th, 1970. 327 with a 4 spd and 4.11's. Drove to track, opened the headers, raced and drove home. Put quite a few miles on that track ina number of different cars over the past 50+ years. Very happy that we still have the track and fortunate it's less than an hour's drive from my house. And fifty plus years later, I'm still driving a 55 Chevy and along with my 57 Corvette. 19260470_1776772942338576_268034151658803890_n.jpg PA260018.JPG

Anybody remember a car with an army tank body on it?
Maybe a funny car or an exhibition car?
I think it was a Northeastern car

TFoch you always come through for me! Do you know if it was Ford powered?
I ask because I remember a picture of the car hanging in Ed Havigamian's shop.

  18. Quick search said it was a Blown Big Block Chevy.

anybody out there remember AL Oakes 1939 Chevrolet coupe with 409 engine called the iron fireman? looking for any info, pics and videos of the car racing at New England Dragway, Charleston Airport Rhode Island or any other local track the car raced at, here's a couple pics of the car back in the 1960's and a current pic of the car today.
