In looking for a replacement windshield frame for my 37 Desoto coupe I have found a 37 Plymouth parts car with a decent windshield frame. Does anyone know if they are the same? My Desoto is in storage otherwise I would make a template to compare. TIA
DeSoto shared bodies with Chrysler, completely different from Plymouth or Dodge so I have to say no. You could measure to be sure.
I'm thinking the dodge and DeSoto were closer than the dodge and Plymouth. The dodge and DeSoto I think shared wheelbases where the Plymouth Wawa bit shorter. Not sure where the differences manifested itself but I think it was on the cowl which might factor into the windshield and it's shape. Maybe check with a glass shop that may have the old windshield templates to see if there are any notes regarding interchange and differences.
I posted this picture hoping to answer a similar question on a different thread the other day. My flat rate manual only goes back to 1938. If you look at the bottom of the page the it explains the letters; C = Chrysler, D = Dodge, S =Desoto, and P = Plymouth. I'm guessing if the windshield interchanges, the windshield frame would be the same .
That’s great, if I am reading it correctly at least for 1938 all mopars used the same windshield, so maybe 1937 is the same. Thank you all for the help.
