Me too, I almost did one on my car but they are very hard to do correctly and make function. It would be cool to see some more Mercs with them on, maybe add to this thread!?!?
The 1956 picture is when Wayne owned the Merc. It changed hands at least twice before the 1963 picture when I owned it. After I sold it (63 or 64) there were probably half a dozen different owners until the current owner bought it around 1979. Now it is slowly deteriorating in a Wisconsin garage. It has suffered a front end collision, loss of the Cad motor, roof caved in by falling garage roof, floor and rocker rusted away and loss of original dash instruments. Curt R
Bob had told me that he had owned the Merc. He may have told me that the hood blew up or off the Merc at one time. He never did mention when he owned it but it was after I owned it. Curt R
Not for sure but that is what was said it might be from his collection. Made may day to see a new picture of The King of Mercs.
