Greetings, I am finishing up a project (1937 Chevy Sedan) and am trying to figure out what goes in this hole on the top of the dash (See attached pics for reference). I'm assuming it's either for a clock of some sort or my research has shown possibly a "traffic light viewer" went there. I was born about 50 years after this car was made and am relatively new to the restoration game, so I'm relying on some of you wiser, more experienced gentlemen to hopefully help a youngster out! Thanks
Yep, windshield defroster outlet. Only one on the Driver's side in '37. Passenger's side got one in '38. I'll try to get a picture of mine and post it after work.
Is that available as a repop? Mine is missing too I would add a right side also. It gets cold here in Michigan. Sent from my XT1080 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
The trucks came with no provision for a defroster in 37 so you guys with cars are lucky to have a hole for at least one defroster duct.
Look for 38 windshield garnish molding it has defroster provision Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I saw one on the auction site awhile back for $25 but when I checked with the seller about the hole spacing it was way off. How about a picture with a ruler?
Hi KB... I saw on another thread that you were parting out some 37/38 Chevies. I am new to the HAMB and it would not let me reply there. I need a piece of the steel dash around the instrument cluster. Not the instruments but the a piece of the actual dash that surrounds the instrument cluster. Can you help me out with this? Thanks Chris
I know these are old posts, but I recently sold my 37 4 door master deluxe and have the parts mentioned above and more!
