This is an always on event on Saturday mornings at a reconstuctured old village. Usually a small group of regulars turn up. I haven't been out for awhile so it was good to clean up the roadster and head out in the early hours today. Just a small group today. They also get togetheon Sunday mornings when the Markets are on as well as Friday nights sometimes.

@hudson48 A question if you will, do most people in Oz convert left had drive Hot Rods to right hand drive or just leave them left hand drive? :)

  5. Very few hot rods come into the country. Those that do usually need a ton of work to comply for rego. If any come here they are usually very original (i.e not street rod) type cars.

I think your rules maybe stronger than over here. We have an 8 point system now for putting a car on the road. This system applies to everything other than none factory. Nice group of cars there, I like the buick, looks clean and straight.

Australia seems to have the toughest rules for building hot rods, probably with New Zealand being the 2nd most difficult.
Unfortunately we have no idea where you are from, so can’t really compare..........

Im from England clem. We are moving in the direction of no modifications. We are trying to get together with classic car clubs all over GB for the last few years. Classic cars over here are now road tax free pre 1981 and mot or inspection free. But that's dodgy ground if your car is modified. It can lead to insurance being invalid. The nsra have had a stand at the classic car show in Birmingham to show are types of cars to the wider public that has worked out well picking up best club displays. And the vhra have pushed boundaries at pendine Sands and at a hill climb event that's owned by the bugatti club. Car culture is really big over here, I drive a truck for a living and work weekends and the verity of car clubs having there runs in the summer is special.

Chassis is 5 points if original or new with no modifications. Suspension 2 points if original, both axles 2 points if original, transmission 2 points if original, steering 2 points and engine 1 point. Lots of cars or rods being put together at the min will have to work this out including mine. This is the same system for importing as well.
