  1. It’s a 327/360 fuelie car. I have a carburetor on it now with the fuel injection system on the shelf, but I did find a guy here in Oregon that is really good with them though, so hopes are to put it back on.

And the redlines. Are they 14 inch tires, they look small.

I saw the fender emblems and wondered. But wasn't sure because the emblems aren't in the stock locations. If it still has a factory tach is the red line 6 grand to 6500?

The Torque Thrusts appear to have round spokes. My favorite. Are they Ansen's by chance?

They definitely looks Ansen like to me! I’d sure like to find a set of 15x6’s for the 61.

  6. The tach redline is 6500-7 and the wheels are in fact Ansen.

    Jim,

Sorry for the late reply (only a year!). The color of the Grassman Corvette is indeed Sateen Silver. When I sold the car to Dan I included a gallon of lacquer in case he wanted to touch up the "hanger rash".

When I purchased the car it had funny splotches all over the body. It turns out that's where they took rubbing compound to remove the lettering after the Winternationals and it affected the overall paint.

    Jim,

    I have a couple of Doc Taylor's 57 at the 62 Winternationals.

Thanks for the response Bert. I actually had been talking to a guy on some of the early colors and he had sent me a picture of a frost blue 60 that was washed out and my brain was not working in total harmony with my fingers when I posted.

As to Doc Taylor, I will contact you in that regard. Taylor certainly deserves more than a mention and definitely deserves a picture or two. Just so you know Dan is really happy as the new caretaker of "your car", which guys on here would know as the Grassman Nicholson Wade 61. Thanks Jim

Doc Taylor was pretty well known around Pasadena. He had a bunch of go fast parts.

It's great that Dan is happy with the Grassman Corvette! It was just sitting in my garage and maybe getting out once a year to a Cars and Coffee event. Driving with the slicks and the skinny fronts was a challenge with today's traffic. The car deserved to be in a museum so it is great people are seeing it.

Here is a photo of Grumpy with the Corvette one of the times I drove it down to Famoso dragstrip. Grumpy spent quite a bit of time going over the car. I think I could understand why he got his nickname. While we were talking other people would stop by and ask him the dumbest questions!

I love that 67. I have a 427 in my red car and a new L88 cam on the shelf. Thought about giving it a shot to see what it is like. L88s sound really great with the headers open.
