Belt Pulley driven air compressors were used on 50's and 60's gas burning big trucks like F700's and G60's. Any old truck junk yards around? May be something from a school bus? A good truck parts dealer should be able to find something you could use, they weren't that uncommon.

You might want to reconsider the Detroit, that bus might go from about 7 miles to the gallon with the Detroit to about 7 gallons to the mile with the 454. Been watching the Bus Grease Monkey and those old Detroits look to be a simple engine and sound good.

I took my driver's license test in a 58 Buick four door Special. I raced my first street race later the same day in the same car and won.

I just did some wiring on a 1991 65oo Kodiak with a 366 big block and air brakes. Belt driven compressor. https://www.fleet-products.ca/227407x-tf-400-pulley-drive-compressor/

Nice score! I'd take cats over rats or snakes any day.

I worked at a junk yard in Ft lauderdale in the 90's we used to have iguanas and other lizards living in cars, one guy there got bit by one he was trying to catch it was pretty funny to the rest of us.

If you have not finished building your BBC , you might want to install a high volume oil pump. Most belt driven air compressors oil from the engines oil pump. If I remember correctly there were some trucks with the belt driven air compressors on the 427 and 366 big block Chevies.

That's amazing. A car around here with no glass for a couple years would be a flinstone-mobile...

    Great find! Questions:
    1) Does the car have both original black California plates?
    2) Did you get the pink slip?
    3) Is there an old registration slip with the car?

The reason I'm asking is that if you have the pink slip or registration slip tying the original black plate to the VIN, you can use those original plates without paying an extra yearly YOM plate fee.
