This car was in the magazines back in the day, seem to remember it on the cover, Hot Rod maybe ?

FWIW, I started the "Praise the Lowered" saying by painting that name on a '49 Merc's rear quarters waa-aay back in 1982, just in time for my friend Ed Banes of Littleton, CO, to drive to Des Moines for the KKOA show...it was only a matter of hours after Ed drove into the fairgrounds that the lapel button people were selling large buttons with that saying on it...it took off like wildfire and is still going on today...

This was taken a couple years later after it was painted. It was in primmer in 82.

 

Yep, that's Ed's Merc...if I recall correctly I lettered it in red on the primered version...thanx stanlow69...glad you have a photo of it...

That 39 Ford 4-door convertible wasn't the car I used for the Lead East artwork, It was a 40 Merc that I made up in my head. I don't know how it made its way onto the Praise the Lowered plaque.
