Hot Rods Had To Have Another Five Window After All.

Just came in for a carrot break. Tough to lose weight!
While my axle is out being dropped I got some parts painted , worked on shock brackets and started chopping NO NO my license plate bracket to fit my CT 32 plate.

 

Shame on you, cutting up good original 32 parts. You should know better!

 

It was not the one on the car. It’s a reproduction. Not that it matters. I would still like to chop the top on this sucker.

Changed the amp gauge to a volt gauge today. Prepped the chopped license plate bracket for paint. This is why I am cutting the bracket down!

Nothing too exciting! How about that Plate!

 

CT, Love the original look of your dash. I did something similar but mounted my gauges from behind.

 

How did you open the gauge holes ? Very nice job !!

 

Got to agree, that plate is sweet. Story?

The holes were machined out to the fit the inner ring of the gauge bezels. The SW gauges were then inserted from behind with only half the bezel showing. I then made a thin aluminum framework to hold them in place.

 

That looks great. Very nice.

Got some front end stuff finished and ready for install. Sanded my roadster steering wheel for a color change. That was it for today. Oh had a doctor appointment for my finger. He said coming along nicely but wanted to know about the primer on my finger. Back in the garage tomorrow.

 

A few more things done today. Doctor told me not to get the finger dirty!
Tie rod painted! Roadster windshield sanded.

 

Have you priced a pair of butcher gloves?

Being Sunday I did not spend much time out in the garage. Got my chopped license plate bracket installed on the coupe. You know what they say! It's the little things. Just waiting for the dropped axle.
Notice overhang on the CT 32 plate.

It is healing very nicely. They should know I take the cast off when I am in the garage!
Just prepped so stuff for painting today. Need the axle so I can see what I am going to do with spindles and steering arm.
I have been wearing rubber gloves to keep grease and paint off the finger.

 

No have not been dusting. Just sanding and painting!

 

The axle is dropped, blasted and primed. It is being shipped back so I can continue. Thanks to Andy Kohler for doing a quick turnaround for me!

 

Love how he can keep the I bean shape so consistent through out the drop. Bob

Not much going on until the axle and wishbone get painted. Straightening some hardware out. That's it! Axle is about 48"
