I don't know about the newer chassis... I've always been a fan of the old school "pancake" chassis... The newer pancake style chassis is ok I guess from Auto World and Johnny Lightning.... I just don't like the cheap plastic gears... They tend to bind up once in awhile... Plus some have real sloppy axle holes...:(

    I hate a sloppy a-hole!

I've never had issues with my plastic geared cars I couldn't fix easily, but yeah, if they're built poorly you can tell. My hand built and sg+ cars look like a blur around my track they're so fast tho, lol. That's how I like it!

  4. I found a box with some of my old HO cars. Probably haven’t seen the light in 40 or more years. I know I have a box of AFX cars too. Like the A delivery, woodie, couple. Plus some others. Yes they do. Uncut wheel wheels, good roof posts and non-stripped screw holes are things I look for. Some colors are very hard to find too (like black). My brother has collected T-jets since the early 80’s and considered an expert in the field. Probably is nearing having one of every body platform in each color. I’m happy to ask him if you want with the pics you attached if that’s all of the them. The Cougars and Mustang look ok. Any original boxes? I will be setting up a track in my Lionel train room to run our T-jets hopefully this year. Regards, Randy.

Some of the "newer" TOMY A/FX track sets come with a 3 level power pack... I think it's 8 volts, 14 volts and 20 volts... I don't think the Auto World drag strip sets have those.. I did buy one of those power packs off of eBay though and they will plug in to the TOMY or Auto World track pieces... The track pieces also interchange....:)

I have those switchable power supplies and have it hooked up with one per lane so they don't suck juice from the other lane. (edot: 4 lanes) Very nice when there's little kids there and they want the cars to stay on the road.

Where you at in the mitten deuces?

Thanks!.... It's got a Dash chassis under it... I gotta break it in when I set up a track... I did check it with a 9 volt battery and seems to run pretty good.... Just a little noisy with the gears....:)

I recently got out my track and did a layout in th3 barn, have about 6 cars I had when I was 9 years old in 1969, my first stage into working on “cars”. Even have a repaint with stripes and numbering...I also now have been taking Hot Wheels that I like and converting them to slot cars,

  24. Wow, that's impressive!
You took me back there, I had a few of those. The Nomad ended up as an El Camino, and a Superbird got it's wing clipped to become the General Lee. You obviously took better care of your stuff.

  25. I got some of the older ones through yard sales and such so I have not had them all since my youth. The newer ones I bought for my son when he was little. Wish I still had my old Matchbox and Hot Wheels. I pretty match destroyed most of them.

This one has red wire with green laminations... I can't find any info on this anywhere on the net... All I know, it spins really fast when checked with a 9 volt battery...
Can't wait to check it out on a race track or even on the drag strip with 20 volts...:D:) IMG_20210125_032330.jpg
