Stock wishbones, dropped cross leaf springs, stock transmission and driveline, 1958 283 with an adapter. Other than the wheels and radials it's right out of 1960 20201211_141525~2.jpeg

    Neat Car
Got a similar project, my plans are to drive it with original driveline behind a 350 until some thing breaks.

Just pulled out a 3x2 400 sbc  and changed to a mild 350 to help it live

Is that an aluminum 2 barrel intake ?

Yup, was only running on the center carb so the drivetrain wouldn't go boom. 20170414_135022 (1).jpg

    Where I am at now
Cleaned the engine up and put new gaskets, bearings, seals in a 1980 350 along with a mild Howards cam.
Didn't like the old electric fuel pump so cut part of the cross member to make room for the mechanical fuel pump.
Cleaned and painted the frame and headers as long as the front clip was off. curing header paint.jpg

Do you have the knee action shocks or is it got Tube shocks on it ?
I have an extra set of original Ford stamped front tube shock frame towers, if you need them P.M. Me.

Getting ready to remove the flathead and install the Chebby.... probably going to pull the front axle and take it to Muskegon to get squashed! Hopefully it will make noise on it's own by Christmas. Maybe even a test drive yet this year. 20201219_173429.jpeg 20201217_170341.jpeg 20201213_122148.jpeg 20201212_195625.jpeg

cut cross member .jpg On my 48, used spacers between the block and front mount for fuel pump clearance, also had to notch the cross member for it..

The beginning of the engine mount, hopefully I'll have it finished and get the exhaust done this week. Maybe even hear it make noise this week 20210109_160532.jpeg 20210109_160603.jpeg
