Ive used wicos, but I prefer Scintilla Vertex. A bit more expensive than Wico. But aa better equipment. Ive found that the Scintilla has shops that recharge and/ or bebuild. And can reconfigure to different advance wanted. Wico is a bit more “primative”. They can both serve well if you study how to properly/safely use them.

I had a Wico and it worked just fine on the street. Grounded toggle switch under the dash worked as a kill switch. There are shops that work on ag equipment that will work on mags and charge considerable less than performance shops.

i asked in the Superchargers thread, got 4 likes, but no further information.

where could i begin researching a blower installation like this, with hopeful pictures from the passenger side to get a better idea of the manifold arrangement?

    thanks

ps: of Course i would include an Ampco top end oiler - not going to let that research fade away!

^^^^^^^^ I stand corrected on the charger make... you can just make out the stock exhaust manifold and clearly see the Burns single 94/97 intake. I am pretty sure these blowers were designed to bolt directly to a 4 barrel carb bolt pattern, and this fella built a simple adapter

  9. I assume you guys looking at superchargers to increase the volume and importantly pressure on your "Bangers"; understand that the first order of business is to design an element to strengthen the "Bottom End"! I would think it prudent to use a crank ground out of forged billet and five main bearings! Just "My Two Cents"

i'm a 1:25 scale model builder - and just think it looks so flippin' cool. but i Will tell everyone the crank is ground out of forged billet & is held in by 5 main bearings.

additional information: i like the finned oil pan used on the model A engine in the Pietenpol Air-Camper plane, too ( Pietenpol Air Camper - Wikipedia )

and thanks for the frenzel link; too cool.

It was great to get my T running - see my other threads on here. Did a 10 day thrash and got it done.

Old time model a hustler (he's cool, just gotta count your fingers after shaking his hand) gets in touch with me..he's got 22 (yep twenty two) A engines in a lot,all the old time builders in the area have retired or died, and he's looking to me for help..problem is there is no money in them..he knows it and so do I..but I figure I'll evaluate them, see if I can pick off a few.

Easiest way to get a video onto a forum is to upload it to YouTube and then link it across

Blowers are sexy but turbos are better, less parasitic draw and easier to control boost.Im with Old Dawg, you start running up compression with either system you better have a good bottom end..or turbo it and keep it sane,1 to 2 lbs boost..volumetric effciency increase normal with turbocharging or supercharging a touch of boost increases VE..

That is the kit that is sold by Aaron Loveless of Loveless performance. I bought one of the first. I am just finishing up the install. I had one of Charlie Yapp's billrt small diameter crank pulleys and I just received his standard diameter pulley. I did not want it underdriven. It is supposed to just make 3lbs of boost. I A engine has insert bearings and full pressure oil.

How much of a difference does one of these blowers make in the driver's experience ... asking for a friend
