    Hi There,

I am looking for an F1 Steering Box, stamped with 30896 on the sector shaft housing.

I found this cool web site and thought I'd join.

    Thanks.

Welcome from a South Dakota native! We're hoping to move to the Spearfish area in the next couple of years. I was a good friend of a neat older couple from the Piedmont area, Darrel and Mildred Cooper. My wife and I painted their house one summer when we were on vacation visiting them.

Welcome. You might have better luck if you post what you're looking for in the "wanted" section.
But stick around. You'll like it here.

  18. He can't, he only has one post, which is probably why he's posting it here.

    Thanks for the warm welcome.
I am working on a 38 Dodge Rat Rod.
I bought it completed, and although everything works, the workmanship was quite "ratty". I have cleaned up a lot of welds and am currently working on getting the steering tightened up. The F1 steering box adjustment is maxed out and still has about 4 inches of play at the steering wheel. All the bushings feel tight, but the worm and sector gears are galled. So, I am looking to either replace the box or rebuild what I have.

I also found a sweet Boy Scout trailer that had been sitting under the pines for 20 years that matches nicely, but needs much love to make it a reliable canoe carrier.

We lived in Denver for 12 years. Loved the area, but missed the freedom of living in a less populated area.

Welcome, but don't mention rat rods........ they are not welcomed here, along with VW's & Mustangs and anything built after 1965.
