  1. Hi folks, after having my Suburban on the road and in the garage for twelve years, I'm embarking upon a redo which will include a Smeding 383 stroker engine, a front suspension drop, and a deep cleaning and detailing underhood. I've never done a build thread out of embarrassment that my projects always take forever, but this time I'm blogging about the work and the process. The Burb is a '65 Chevy so I thought it's probably better taken outside of the HAMB. So I've linked the blog in my signature.
Hope that's kosher. Feel free to follow. Happy 2021. Over and out. Screen Shot 2020-12-30 at 9.02.17 PM.png

I'm sure the 60-66 guys would love to follow also.

I went down that road on my 66 Suburban with a complete front suspension rebuild as well as a disc brake and power steering swap, six to five lug change front and rear, dropped it about six inches.

I liked how it looked and rode, what I didn't like was the lack of ground clearance under the front crossmember/suspension.
    This was my remedy.

1965 is good for the HAMB. Ryan's rule no. 4:

    4. We cover traditional '65 and older American cars only. All other threads will be deleted. We don't cover rat rods, muscle cars, mustangs, or VWs.

  6. Thanks for the feedback. So, it looks like you Z'ed your frame and used a simpler cross member.
    Would love to know more.

Looks like a 63 or 64 at first glance and that is the key to having a 65 on here.
65 is a good year for me though as that is the year I graduated from high school .
