And not just any 12 spokes, they are Creitz. Said to be rare, but I don’t find them particularly stylish.

  4. I guess the admin didn't like the wheels either, I must be targeted and about had my limit, vintage photos from Niagara Speedway and they get deleted.

Dave Deichman's sedan, fuel Ardun, sponsored by Pasagreen Body Shop in Pasadena.

Photo posted in Hot Rod to show how a proper roll bar saved a life. It would not be "proper" now, but in the '50s it was pretty advanced.

Kent Endrele ran this sedan with a 4-barrel, belly tank nose. Norm Grudem photo, taken at Pomona. Kent would gain fame later with his injectors.

    mikkleson yates klass.jpg
Don Yates in the Yates Brothers dragster, with Clarke Cagle's Ardun. This car is sometimes associated with Art Mikkleson, who "bought" it just before it ran 144. But Art never paid, just happened to be there at the right time.

The promotional lineup at Lions just before it opened. From bottom: Vic Hubbard street roadster, Merrymen Car Club (4-cylinder), John Bradley (flathead), Armstrong and Richter (Chrysler), J.E. Riley Special (blown Chrysler), Nichols Brothers (Olds), Manuel Coelho (twin Chryslers), Weeks & Noble roadster (Desoto), White brothers fuel '40 Merc (flathead). Chevy at top is Doug Cook's gasser, and the nose of the Serpa and Goodyear Pacific Auto Body coupe is at top center. Ike Iacano's '34 coupe is out of the shot at the bottom.

Bill Sanders, here with a flathead (looks stock), formerly had a Cragar-headed 4 cylinder. Willys hood for a nose. Pat Ganahl photo from his newsletter.

  17. If I am not mistaken, Kent Enderle's race car was a 1928-29 Ford pickup truck. It was on the cover of one of the small car magazines in the 1950's.

  19. Hey @TFoch, this thread is for vintage images (roughly mid-'60s and earlier) - there's another thread for modern images of traditional style cars.

    Edit: And here it is...
