Kind of sucks to restore a brand new body. But i dont have any doubt that its going to be just as cool as your other builds.
Slowly going foward. Nothing expensive tools/machines. I try to buy every year something new. When I was younger, I didn´t have money to buy tools what I want to. Now situation is better and try to enjoy using all what have bought. Small garage, not possible to have there all what needed...
Saturday, 8hours in garage and tailight panels are nearly ready for final installation to the body. 1st I stretch little more those cups which I have presslathe few weeks ago. Everything else, except hammering, You can see in pics. Aulis
Has to be from an English Electric Lightning fighter, as that was the only RAF aircraft that used a brake parachute that small at that time. The only other RAF aircraft to use them were the Vulcan and Victor V-Bombers, but they were huge!!
Epiphany (6th of Jan) is here dayoff. Just worked 6hours in garage. They have bolted on rear panel and after that spotwelded it strongly (they have good spotwelder in Brookville). Also under floorpanel have mig welding. After cutting and drilling hour or two, I finally removed panel. I want that both panels upside and downside of trunk lid are easy to remove (bolts). When this panel is removed, easy to grind weldings around taillight cups and paint epoxy, final 2K acryl.... New sheetmetal part around tailligt must be stretched before installation. You know, that when You weld it on, it shrink strongly. I have stretch part before welding when I made those panels. Can also stretch later after welding and grinding. In this case there (backside) is no free space to use dolly when stretch with hammer after welding. Too many pics,... Aulis
It takes very much job that all fit after welded so much. Finally looks better after Thursday 5hours shrinking, hammering and streching. Aulis
This part of body is ready. All panels + trunk lid fit good and easy remove, bolt on - bolt off. Both taillights installed. Next need to made alum. rings bezels to those anther holes. Aulis

Thanks Pete. Today continue this project. Need to made those plywood panels during next days. I want to leave those to upholsterer. When I made those door panels, I remembered what brookville door inner panel is not same model RH and LH. I found old plan there I was wrote all diffences. If You make those panels, its good to remember it. Aulis
Too much dayjob, not worked so much with roadster. Monday-Tuesday I cut and fitted floorpanelkit right dimensions. Before that I shim and bolted body 1st time on frame. Now doors work perfect clearances are Ok. Drilled holes, made threads and bolted on female and male dovetails both side. Im not sure if I drill outside door handle holes or keep it "shaved". Finally made patch panels, drilled, file those ready. I had one extra littre German brand Osmocolor woodwax. Many times , I have painted all plywoods, but now used that wax. Thursday I left all interior to upholsterer. after one or two week arrive CA seacontainer where is also sometihing for me. Engine parts to built that 296cid engine, gaugestuff, engineparts from HH Flatheads, 97 carbs, intakes, magneto,... I think, hydraulic tubes for seat frames are ready. Monday need to pick those up from one of those local hydraulic and pneumatic shops called "nestepaine oy". I want to install P-51 magnesium seats very low because windshield frame is little over 3" chopped. Big steering wheel is what I like to use. AULIS 30cm (12") snow here. last week -25 dec celcius 1-2days. Now, normal few minus decrees celcius. Days are going longer, so need to be assiduous in garage.
Thanks Sir. Today, Saturday, I made 6pc 1932 spindle >< Early Lincoln backing plate fitting plates. Still need to drill new holes to backing plates. If You need those, I can made more. $30.00 pr. There was nice shiny black paint under old firewall insulation. Made plywoods under butt. After Saturday evening Sauna (4 x week we have sauna warm (100dec celcius), finnish weekly tradition) I cook water and try to bend those plywoods. Oskar bought own hot rod training seat. Here we keep good hot rod driving feeling over winter ... playstation driving and racing..... I was glue wood plugs to 4 of those 7 holes. I was relocate those. Body threads and holes in floorpanel were not meet. Aulis
Beautiful fit on those body panels. Henry could not have done better! Lots of neat trophies in your back room. Keep the pics coming. Noted the snow outside your window- luckily we don't get that here in Phoenix. 65 degrees here today. That's one reason why my great-grandfather left Norway. Ned
I like warm places like Arizona, Californa.... But now need to live here until Oskar is moved to live on his owns. Now we have very much snow , +10", but today rain water,... It would be better if have little colder all the time. Winter is good to work more in garage or have other hobbies. If have all the time nice warm weather, You do not have so much time to work with projects because You enjoy outside .... Aulis
Monday-Tuesday. Too many pics, sorry about that. Seat panels are cut and bended (hot water). I was dry those in sauna. 2hours in 90-100dec Celcius. Next week I leave those to upholsterer. Floorpanels are ready and waxed. 10holes need to move. Firewall is welded (cracks and missing part from leg) and broken bolts removed. Today I cut, fit and sand woods behind cabin. Aulis

Why not? vintage aircraft style and of course old race car style..... Too easy to built hot rod without modifications. If I go to hot rod meeting (street rod meeting) I can see those 1932 cars like "sheeps" in the field. I like those Blisters. I can see also this hot rod ready with hood sides, painted old style acryl 2K paint nice colour, wheels and tires under car, alum. parts all over inside and outside, 3" chopped windshield frame bolted on, Alum. homemade grill...... Blisters. why not? Aulis
