Hot Rods How Many Miles Did You Drive Your HAMB-friendly Vehicle(s) in 2020?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by phartman, Dec 31, 2020.

  1. For the last couple of years I have kept a log of miles driven in my old cars. With COVID and other concerns about getting out of the house, it came as a surprise that hot rod miles driven in 2020 were about the same as last year. Here's how it broke down:

1961 Full Size Ford 743 miles
    1940 Tudor Sedan 683 miles
    1934 Ford Pickup 500 miles

    Total Miles Driven 1,926

So that comes about from just knocking around the area, going for a coffee, no car shows to speak of, no longer trips and no events. A surprise as my total in 2019 was slightly less at 1,917 miles.

How about you? How many miles did you log? Did you get out and drive or stay home?

Man, I don't know how many miles because I didn't write it down at the beginning of the year, but I did drive my '40 347 days in 2020 and my Nomad 237 days.

Interesting never really thought about it ,till I worked it out.
    32 3W ..900mls
    37 coupe maybe only 250mls
    49 ford coupe 2246 mls
Total 3346 mls on rough twisty NZ roads.
No fun having a car in the shed . Even with our lock down happening while we were 500 mls from home and had to cut our road trip a week short and hurry home.

  5. Taboo never left the garage, my 33 pickup never left either, the 55 Chevy got maybe 40 miles at most. My 1968 O/T chevy's got some miles though.

  6. In a 'normal' year I drive between 6 & 8,000 miles. In 2020 it was 300. I can honestly say I walked more miles this year.

Drove the Goat around 1000 miles. About 500 less than last year. I work from home (since January of 2020) and drove about 10% of what I’ve done the past 20 years. Happy for more home time really. Regards, Randy

Let's see, take and bake Pizza is 2 miles away, Habit Burger is 1.5, Ace hardware is about a mile, O'Reilly's a block and a half..

    Not far, but a lot.

    9,250 miles this year.
Only one trip out of state. Visited some places in the state I hadn’t been to before.
Drove it to work again today.

I drove my 39 about 1100 miles, mostly to and from work and errands, no trips. Normally I would go about 2000 miles ( best year was 6000 miles ) with a road tour and shows. 2021 I hope to drive a lot more being I am retired now.

I never keep track...despite it being a fantastic social distancer I heeded the call to limit unnecessary travel but still went out here and there...I suspect I did a couple thousand miles in very sole adventures wearing a smile those that have similar can only know...

    Happy New Year Hambers

Here's to better Hotrod miles in 2021...;)

I tried, but old gas defeated me. I think I made it from the street to the driveway, then around the block once, but, two separate trips, though. Probably just over a 1/4 mile *maybe*.

I'll do better starting tomorrow, I promise. :D

no odometer in the T, but probably a couple hundred.

1200 on my 59 chevy pickup. Only a few hundred on the Chevy II, no racing this year, unfortunately.

but I put about 6000 on the 63 Tempest (aka Wedge). That was a rather hairy trip.

  20. Probably about normal......3-4k miles between the 3 of them.

Zero miles, since it's still sitting in the same spot in the shop it has been the last few years.:( Wife's OT F Bird might have gotten 200 miles on it, think I put gas in it once this year. Like others said, no show or cruise in's to go to, heck my OT pickup [probably didn't get 1000 miles put on it all year either. Don't ask about the semi truck, I didn't write it down, but well over 100,000 I'm sure....

<------ Maybe 1000 on the '41 Chevy and a couple of hundred on the '51 Ford sedan. To be fair I just got the transmission and brakes fixed on the Ford a few weeks ago.

Merc 2500 or so, 2 OT, another 1000/per, that's about normal miles per summer for me. Only a few shows attended, a few cruises with friends, the rest just driving around go to lunch etc. I did miss the shows, cruises, the people, travel to an event.

About 1,400 on the '55 Chevy and about 900 on the '37 Chevy coupe.

My 2021 resolution is to drive more miles and drink more beer...........not necessarily at the same time.

8C9D0DC3-AA51-4510-8AF5-2C75E3CEA1DA.jpeg I probably put 1500-1800 on, but only a guess since I only have a tach and no speedo. Longest ride was 200 mile round tripper Over to Newcastle Wyoming from the rapid city Area. 576D4FB0-9320-4463-ADA1-333668288D29.jpeg A few miles were put on going in circles! 5F4FFF21-0D4E-4747-9BBD-166593CDD69C.jpeg
