Hey Guys I built a little roadster pickup while I was out of High School for the quarantine (I am 18) and I am almost finished with it but I need some help with the wiring to get the car done. It is a 1927 Dodge with an 8BA. Does anyone know of a place to get it done in or around North County San Diego? Or is there anyone that would be willing to come help me for compensation of course. Thanks
Rebel makes a wiring kit with good instructions and telephone support. You should be able to do this if you only have minimal electrical accessories. @REBEL43 http://rebelwire.com/rebel-wire-products.php?cat=Wire Kits Call Jeremy at Rebel, he will help you select the right product for your project.
You can DIY with a simple basic kit from a reputable supplier like this one: https://www.americanautowire.com/shop/route-9-universal-wiring-system Go for it...........It ain't rocket science!
Which is why you didn't post any pictures after reading the rules. Smart young man. Now check out Rebel Wire for your wiring needs. They are a member here and will treat you right.
JMO but since you've gotten this far with your build I'm betting you can wire it yourself with a wiring kit like already suggested. I used a Rebel kit to rewire my '39 p/u and it was very straight forward. I did have help form a now departed mentor but I'm sure I could have done it myself although it might have taken a bit longer. I've heard that Rebel has excellent Tech support but I didn't need it. On another note not wiring related, I'd ditch the road draft tube on the 8ba in favor of a PCV system. Easy to do with off the shelf parts. And as long as I'm poking my nose into your build, maybe a Chevy distributor conversion. Again, JMO. Feel free to ignore.
Everybody likes and dislikes different stuff! I definitely have my favorites! The important thing is you built it! And at 18, with those skills... you have a bright future! Bones
I know this is probably a very dumb question but I looked up the PCV system and I see where it attaches to the intake but in the picture it just goes towards the back of the motor. Where exactly does it connect to on the other side?
If you have the stock 8BA intake, the PCV can plug into the vacuum port just below the carb. If you don't have one then you can tap one into the intake. They also make carb spacers already tapped. Hope this helps you.
Another vote for Rebel. Support is excellent - even over here in the UK. Sent from my moto g(8) power using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Sounds like you got this already ... but if you need some help in helping him out, let me know. I'm next door in Vista.
