A boat load of snow last night in the local mountains. I can see it from the front porch but I'm not going anywhere near the snow. Not with all the crazy city folk driving up to play in it or go skiing. snow.jpg

perfect night for a drive. 3-4" of very light dry snow, about 20 degrees so the manifold heater works well. no other tracks on my drive, just me out on a 25 mile loop on gravel roads. some small drifts, but mostly just easy driving. got me so happy and festive, i had to sing. ok kids, sing along now...crashing thru the snow, in a 40 horse model A, past the fields we go, laughing all the way. the old ford rattles and rings, making spirits bright, oh what fun it is to ride and sing in model A ford tonight. jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way, oh what fun it is IMG_0783.JPG to ride a 40 horse model A

One from a year ago when I rolled it outside to make room in the shop. The other is from 2008, when it was not drivable and got left out with 2 feet of snowfall, which is rare here.

We got 9 inches a day ago. Wife had surgery and would be difficult to get in the car--- so I pulled out my Avatar and took her in it. It has hydraulics, so I just raised the car to a level so she could just slide in and slide out. Had to drive it 3 miles. 100% snow packed roads. It a bit new so no pic`s.

A wish for a speedy recovery for the Missus and it was probably not your average winter interlude by any means...

Very short and not greatest of quality. Wife standing on road videoing.
Mild out today so wanted to make a short clip of the Fargo driving. I couldn't floor it on take off, 2 reasons would have lost it and shot gravel all over Wife...lol

out for a nice winter drive in the snow again tonight. 20 degrees, no wind, and 3" of new snow. mostly no tracks except me. had trouble tonight with the windshield fogging up, must have been humid, not usually a problem. 25 miles of gravel road, had to sing jingle bells again. You know, a cross between The Race of Gentleman and The ICE at St Moritz would be a really interesting event

30 degrees on my front porch this AM in sunny SoCal. Lots of snow in the local hills near me and plenty at resort level. But I've got no desire to go deal with all the crazy flatlanders on the way up the hill. I'll just sit in front of the wood stove and surf the web.

I'm not worried about the snow. If someone wants to come wash the salt off the roads here, I'll drive it...

Hell I don't usually drive mine in the rain. I have out of necessity a few times, but if it's raining before I leave I take one of the dd's. I drive it a lot, but keeping it nice for my kid.
