I came across this photo on a Facebook group. Is it a well known truck? Anyone know anything about the builder/owner? Does it still exist? Thanks and I hope that everyone had a great Christmas.[IMG]

It almost looks like it has 58 Chev rear quarters on it.

You type faster, I agree. That might help someone ID it.

Yup, I own the paper photo of that truck. I bought an old photo album on ebay and that is one of the pictures. I posted it here in the vintage car show photo thread back in 2017, I am sure that someone on FB copied it from the Hamb. here are some pics showing that truck some are in the background, The car show is in Canada

Thanks Moriarity I thought that it looked kind of familiar and your post is exactly where I saw it before Facebook. I appreciate you sharing your collection of photos even though that allows people to copy them.

Looks like “the Scarlet Bun” owned by Barry Frisk?

There's an overview shot of a Winnipeg Arena car show that you can *just* make out the back end of the truck behind the "Clutchers" banner, here: http://keystonebisontake2.com/rodsandcustoms.html

Might need to add Canada or Winnipeg to your search terms.

EDIT: Regina Road Knights might be a useful term to add as well.

Looks like the back end off a 58 Chevy 2 door wagon. From the days when a lot of customizing was walking out back behind the body shop to cut part of the total sitting back there off or heading to the wrecking yard to glean part of a car to use on your build.

It looks like Barry frisk lived in a suburb of Regina, Saskatchewan called Gray, were he bought an old service station and restored “antique” automobiles and farm equipment. Do we have any Saskatchewan hambers who could see if this truck is still around?

Looks like this pic was taken later. The body was channeled over the frame. The rear of the front fender was trimmed and running boards removed. The earlier pic looks like the cab sits to high compared to the back half. So it was corrected.

The truck was owned and built by Barry Frisk , of Regina area. He was one of the original members of the REGINA ROAD KNIGHTS CAR CLUB , which was disbanded in the late 60’s. The truck still exists and I believe it is now in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan .

Further information on this show car .... it went through a couple of different owners, motor was changed. But was mostly left the way it was. The latest information is the truck is now being restored and a hemi engine has been acquired and will be or has been installed. And it is in the Saskatoon area.
As a side note Mr. Frisk also ran a gasser Henry J named the HAYSHAKER .....

I have tracked down the name of a previous owner, if you would like more info I can call him and get some more history on it.

Hi there, my Dad Barry Balog was a member of the Road Knights Hot Rod Club back in the 50-60s. His brother Donnie was as well. Is this the same club you are talking about? He passed away when I was 17 and I am trying to find pictures! Any help you can be would be appreciated. Thank you!

I found this old photo of my Dad (top) who was a member of the Road Knights Hot Rod Club in Saskatchewan. This below photo looks like this guy with the truck...does anything think that? Or know anymore? Dad inside car.jpg

I don't have any new info for you but the pics you shared are really great so I'll bump this back to the top, you may want to start a new thread just for your search, or for general info about the club. The car your dad is in is a Studebaker and is at least mildly customized, it has Moon disks on it and a couple of decals in the back window that might be identifiable. If that was your dad's car, someone may recognize it.
